The Department of Urban Design and Planning (DPUU) of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Naples Federico II gave birth to the course in "Innovative Design of light in buildings and urban spaces" (Building and Urban Design Innovative Lighting).v


The course, which begins on 13th April 2012 and will be held at the DPUU in 402, Toledo street, every Friday from 9.00 to 13.30 and from 14.30 to 18.00 until 22 June, aims to provide the skills necessary to reach a wise configuration of the light, whether natural or artificial, within the architectural design as seen in its broadest sense: from the single building to the urban space.


In the foreground our territory with its peculiarities, so the light of the Mediterranean in its explosion of colors amplified by the reflection of the sea, that "claims its particular artificial complement " and requires a specific approach, different from the one that can be reserved to the cold northern light.


The Build includes two workshops, the first focused on the lighting design of Duomo street in Naples and the second focused on the light plan of the City of Pietrelcina, and enjoys the support of important companies such as Philips, Artemide, Flos, Fontana Arte, Erco and others. Filippo Cannata will put his expertise to the service of those who want to learn how the light is used by lighting designers, what is its role in the representation of architecture and how the lighting can help save energy.


An interesting initiative, which aims to convey the values of the expression and emotion, to promote and disseminate the culture of light.
