Filippo Cannata will be in Selinunte for the Summer School 2013_Architettura 2.0, an event chaired by the Italian Association of Architecture and Criticism (AIAC) to be held from September 29 to October 6, at the Archeological Park in Marinella di Selinunte (TP).

The architecture of the future will be self-sufficient, intelligent, easy to build, made with simple materials and recyclable. The Selinunte Summer School this year will try to experience it through projects and achievements, working on self-sufficient architectural objects which are able to produce the electricity they consume and provide information on the network, which can be made of materials such as cardboard and in which the light plays a leading role. Smart technologies, sustainability and information for arranging open spaces useful for the Archaeological Park of Selinunte will be put together.

The workshop in lighting design will be structured in two parts, one to support the design workshop, through the development of the lighting project, investigating the issue of the relationship between artificial light and natural light in architecture, the other of experimentation, through experiences to be done on the spot, where with the help of simple light tools it will try to interpret the site and its architectural elements with light.

The objective is the exploration of distinctive and unique light of the Mediterranean in its many shades of color and intensity. A trial exciting, unique, an exciting experience in which light, rhythm and architecture come together in a single element.
